Judge for Big 5 Global 2023 during COP28
Although a significant breakthrough in Dubai remains a challenge for COP28 UAE, some side events provide an optimistic view of global efforts towards a decarbonized society. The Big 5 Global Expo and Construction Event in Dubai, attracting over 100,000 participants, showcases possible large-scale decarbonization solutions in urban planning, architecture and construction projects such as the Sustainable City in Dubai, Museum of the Future or the ongoing CO-LAB, part of the Link construction project in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi.
Elma Durmisevic was happy to see that this year's Big 5 Global Impact Awards included circular building as part of the global achievements for the first time. It was her great pleasure to contribute to this year's launch of the circular building award as a jury member and she looks forward to the further expansion of this revolutionary approach to smart and effective resource use in the built environment (across the globe) that will change our perception and increase the resilience of buildings and cities in the future.
As a member of the Big 5 Global Impact Awards jury, Elma Durmisevic is delighted to announce this year's Circular Building Initiative Award at the awards ceremony on 5 December in Dubai, on the sidelines of world climate summit COP28.
